I've been hoarding Ken Burns Vietnam series for a while but I started watching it this week, and I haven't been disappointed. Like most viewers I've been disturbed by the narrative of how easily a society can drift into tragedy - a highly contemporary theme. Vietnam has occupied my visual imagination to a surprising extent, and I felt compelled to try to capture some sort of homage to Burns' style. Surprisingly, I'm quite pleased with the way this has turned out, rather better than I thought I would be able to achieve.
