Old Master
Salford van Hire (6 April 1631–22 October 1682) was preeminent among artists during what is known as the "Dutch Golden Age" in the 17th century. His most famous works include the altarpiece in Ghent cathedral and a large canvas depicting the crucifixion in the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam. In addition to his own achievements, van Hire founded a dynasty of painters who followed in his footsteps. In the 20th century, the firm branched out into mobile artist studios and the family firm's brightly painted vans can be seen on British roads offering a 24 hour service. Just ring this number any hour of the day or night and they'll turn up within the hour and knock up a canvas any size you want.
