An iconic piece of Mid-Century Modern, the Sofono Spacemaster was designed by Ralph Cameron Ormiston who also designed the Carron "Cordon Bleu" cooker, a forerunner of the modern range cooker. The Spacemaster entered the UK market in 1959 and reflects the contemporary interest in space following the successful launch of Sputnik 1 in 1957. This mint example is in the most sought after colour, Clover Pink. In later models the triangular feet were replaced with a simpler rod design.
